Meet the Conquistadors Climbers, a group of fitness enthusiasts from San Francisco who came together for a great cause. We spearheaded Rock the Steps events to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and were fortunate to have so many people step up with donations. We turned out to be the top fundraising team, raising over $6K to help this year’s SF CFF event raise a total of over $45,000 and counting.
Check out the photos from the September events:
Happy Hour at SOM Bar
The CFF Happy Hour at SOM Bar SF kicked things off. People enjoyed the drink special, vodka and Red Bull, to raise funds for CFF.
There was also a basketball hoop challenge where top scorers of 10 shots received a free drink round on Red Bull.
Fit-Fair at Lombardi Sports
On Saturday 9/1, the Fit-Fair got everyone in shape. There were Yoga, Bootcamp and Kick Abs classes going on while live DJ sets played on the rooftop of Lombardi Sports.
Many completed the very tough Bootcamp session led by Crunch Fitness and some like Maria got their TRX 40/40 Challenge on!
After Party with Skimble
After a day of working out at the Fit-Fair, Skimble hosted an after party!
Climb for Life at One Sansome Skyscraper
The final Climb for Life event took place at One Sansome Skyscraper in San Francisco. We all warmed up then got to business and climbed up 40 flights of stairs to fight CF.
Team member Andrea was a real trooper, not only overcoming her own challenges, but helping fight CF with a smile:This was such an amazing experience for me…to be able to be physically able to do this climb. A couple years back, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and it basically put me in the hospital for 4-5 months of my life. The autoimmune disease had attacked my spinal cord, so the nerve area that was damaged left my left arm and leg paralyzed. I thought I was going to be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. It’s been quite the road to recovery, but I’m doing it and I’m doing it with a smile on my face. It was such a triumphant moment to cross that finish line and to think, “Wow, I could barely walk on my own 2 years ago!”
Special thanks goes out to all the sponsors:

We are extremely excited about this years’ funds raised during out 4th Annual CFF Climb for Life. We hope to grow at such a steady pace every year! 90 cents to every dollar goes directly to CF medical treatment and alternative treatment and research – we hope the success of such as event as Climb for Life can lead the way to eradicating CF!
Big thanks for all those who dug deep. If you didn’t get a chance to get involved in any of the events, you can still donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation online.
