Skimble Member Spotlight: Argiris Z

Skimblers, meet Argiris Z, this November’s Member Spotlight! An avid Workout Trainer member, Argiris has been motivating and inspiring our community for over a year. We wanted to find out more about his fitness journey, so we could share his story with you:

What was your starting point versus your current fitness status?

My fitness journey started in November 2012 at a weight of 90Kg’s. I had been as high as 105Kg’s. Now I am 85Kg’s.

What do you hope to accomplish, fitness-wise, before the end of the year?

My fitness goal is to be mentally tough through the implementation of physical discipline. I work in a pressure job and exercise provides good relief.

Who’s your fitness icon and why?

I don’t really have a fitness icon, I compete against myself.

What’s your favorite thing about Skimble?

The sense of community and support from fellow members to keep me motivated.

What music motivates you during your workouts?

I don’t have an absolute favourite, but it depends on the workout that I’m doing at the time. Up-beat if I’m looking to have a sweat. But cruising when I’m walking with my wife.

Skimble Member Spotlight: David Jones

Check out David Jones, our latest Skimble Member Spotlight!  Utilizing both our GPS Sports Tracker and Workout Trainer apps, David has played an active role in our super-motivated community for almost a year. We’re inspired by the tenacity of this guy, especially since he’s a busy doctor trainee! Check out his story here:

What was your starting point versus your current fitness status?

I’ve always been fit and fairly active, but Skimble has helped me to push myself more and to vary my exercise to include muscle groups I formerly didn’t focus on. The range of workouts is great! As a result I’ve increased my strength (particularly in my core and arms) and muscle definition.

What do you hope to accomplish, fitness-wise, before the end of the year?

I’d like to do a Tough Mudder or something equivalent – pain, mud, and company is my idea of fun!

Who’s your fitness icon and why?

No particular person – I’m inspired by anyone who is focused on calisthenics and can do amazing things with their body. Recently I’ve been awed and inspired by watching ‘Bar Starz’ on YouTube. If you haven’t seen them go see them – they’re amazing! I’m also inspired by yoga as it combines amazing strength with amazing flexibility.

What’s your favorite thing about Skimble?

Great workouts, great community! With workouts as short as 5 minutes, who can ever be too busy to exercise!?

What’s your fitness mantra/motto?

“Practice what you preach” – I’m training to be a doctor, so I’d be a fool if I didn’t follow the advice I gave my patients by exercising regularly!

Isn’t David’s strength and motivation inspiring (we think so)? Thanks for chatting with us David, and stay active!

Skimble Member Spotlight: Annie Tassie

We’d like to introduce you to Annie Tassie, this week’s Skimble Member Spotlight! Annie has been an avid Skimbler, creating over 60 workouts in her pursuit to lose baby weight and gain strength.  Check out her amazing transformation — it’s inspiring us to get out and have some fun in the sun!

What was your starting point versus your current fitness status?

For a while I was “skinny fat.” Size zero, but nothing but a bag of fat and bones. I started with Skimble when I had a baby and gained over 50 pounds.  I lost all the pregnancy weight in 7 months (down to 115) and now I’m building muscle. I’ve built up to 130 lb so far and I’m pretty happy here. Workin’ on the 6 pack now!

Who is your fitness icon and why?

Jillian Michaels. She earned every bit of her body through hard work, not the luck of the genetic pool.

What is your favorite way of staying fit outdoors?

Hiking with my family. I’m lucky to be in Hawaii with lots of beautiful hikes!

What’s your favorite thing about Skimble?

Skimble has made this all possible for me! I create my own workouts everyday. I have used Skimble while travelling and made hotel room workouts too. I’ve got my hubby and friends involved now! I’d be lost without Skimble!

What’s a random fact about you?

I play the bass guitar and shoot guns. A rockstar redneck?

What is your fitness mantra/motto?

No matter how chaotic life gets, the one thing I can control is my body. Fitness is my zen.
