Swimming: August 6th – 13th, 2016
Like a fish out of water, practice this dry Swimming exercise when you don’t have access to a pool. Begin lying on your belly with your arms above your head at shoulder-width. Position your legs hip-width apart. Raise your head and limbs 2 to 3 inches off the ground and pretend you’re swimming. Flutter kick your feet and make small splashing movements with your hands.
Gymnastics: August 8th – 11th/14th – 16th, 2016
Learn a handstand with the help of a partner, follow these simple steps and start with this Assisted Handstand. This is a popular move to master for CrossFit enthusiasts. Set up in down dog or on your hands and knees. Have your partner stand to one side of you, by your hands. Extend one leg up so that your partner can grab it. While they provide support with one hand on the thigh, you can draw the other leg up. Voila, you’re standing upside!
Rowing: August 10th – 13th, 2016
Try Fast Rowing by setting up on a rowing machine, adjusting the foot straps to ensure that your running shoe heel is resting comfortably against the base of the foot pedal and that the strap is secured. While maintaining your rowing form, row quickly as if you were in a race. Go, go, go for gold!
Athletics: August 12th – 21st, 2016
Try these Runners Lunges to step up your track skills and get you racing past the finish line. Stand with your feet together. As you perform a forward right lunge, place your hands on either side of your front foot. After three counts, switch sides. For added balance, place both hands on your front bent knee instead.
Boxing: August 12th – 21st, 2016
Boxing is about so much more than just punching. Try this Jab Cross Hook Elbow exercise to get a feel for the different techniques involved in this infamous sport. Stand in your fighter stance. Go for a straight left jab, then a cross, and finish with a left elbow hook!
