This week, Skimble was on-site at Google I/O, Google’s annual technology & developer conference! Team Skimble rolled in on the Google bikes and got a first-hand look at the latest Android innovations and new Google products.
IO16 kicked off with an outdoor dinner in Mountain View with Women Techmakers – thanks, Google and Natalie Villalobos for organizing a special event that brought together so many women in tech, from all around the world.
Here’s Skimble’s co-founder, Maria Ly, chilling with one of the Android Lawn Statues on Day 0.
The Day 1 keynote kicked off at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View. It felt like a music festival…but with lots of tech talk ranging from the Internet of Things (Google Home) and Virtual Reality (Google VR Daydream) to many and more droid EMOJIS 😉
We learned a lot about the latest tech trends, which was great because we’re always brainstorming valuable ways to make your connected fitness coaching experience even better. We were excited to sit in on Day 2 sessions about building rich fitness experiences with the Google Fit platform and Android Wear.
Not to mention, the fab Skimble shout-out we got as a key mobile health partner.
During the conference, we had fun creating watchfaces for the latest Android Wear watches and received valuable Workout Trainer for Android and Material Design feedback.
Google I/O 2016 evening festivities included rad performances by Charli XCX and Kygo – lucky us!
Yes, it was a hot and cold few days outdoors but we survived in style with our Skimble tanks and hoodies – oh yeahhh! See you next time 😊
