Creating training programs help trainers and fitness enthusiasts alike to organize their training schedule to fit in with their daily routine. Being organized is half the battle when embarking on a new fitness journey, so having a good structure in place is important to help you stick to your plan and achieve your goals faster. You can create your own custom training programs in the Workout Trainer app, and now you can also create programs on the web. Just head over to the Skimble website to start creating your first program from the comfort of your computer.

Select the Programs tab from the top header menu, then tap ‘Add New’ to get started. Here you can create custom training programs on our website the same way you would in the Workout Trainer app.

Start by selecting the language you want to use to create your program. We currently support localized versions of the app in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Come up with a creative name for your program, then write a description to summarize its purpose and select the difficulty of the program based on the average intensity of the workouts you’re using. Skip the Publishing and Privacy steps until you’re ready to go-live with your program.

Tap any day on the calendar to add a workout. You can search by name, category, popular workouts, or select one of your own created workouts. Choose the workout you want to include and it will be added to the calendar on the day you selected.

You can then tap on any workout scheduled on the calendar to replace, duplicate, or remove it. You can also add additional weeks to your program by tapping the gray button below the calendar.

When you’ve finished creating your custom training program, head back up to the top of the page to publish it. Select Public or Private from the drop-down menu before you save the program. We recommend creating private programs to send to your 1:1 training clients for their use only. This is a great marketing tool that can help you grow your online coaching business! You can also create public programs as teaser content to showcase on your profile and share with friends.

You can share your public programs on social media, or send private ones to clients directly on the web. Tap the blue Skimble Share button, select one of your clients, and hit send! Creating Programs is a PRO+ feature. Make sure you’ve completed at least one workout in the app first to be able to access program creation on our website. Verified Trainers with a PRO+ membership can create programs on the web right away, just submit your personal trainer certifications to get verified and start using our Trainer Tools to grow your business.

Workout Trainer by Skimble: Create Custom Training Programs for your Clients
Download the latest Workout Trainer update on your Android and iOS devices to help you and your clients crush those New Year resolutions. With our latest app update, you can create custom training programs at the touch of a button and send them to your fitness crew. By doing so, you can train together with personalized schedules. If you are a fitness professional, hold your clients accountable by tracking their enrolled program progress. It’s a sure-fire way to helping them achieve their 2017 fitness goals.

To get started with program creation in Workout Trainer, navigate to the ‘Programs’ tab and select the ‘+’ or FAB option. Come up with an appropriate name and write a brief description about the training program. You can also indicate the general intensity of the workouts in this program by selecting casual/moderate/intense.

Next, create your program by adding workouts to the calendar. Tap the dumbbell icon to add/swap/delete a workout. When you are ready, use the toggle at the top right to publish the program as ‘Private’ or ‘Public’. Private programs can only be viewed by the clients you send them to, whilst Public programs can be used as a teaser for anyone to find on your profile.

If you want to adapt any of your programs, you can tap the ‘…’ icon in the top right to copy and edit your programs. This handy feature allows you to save time when creating and adjusting similar programs for multiple clients. When you are ready, send your programs to clients and friends in the same way you send them workouts and exercises. Use Text Message, Email, Facebook, Twitter, or simply share the program in-app directly to your 1:1 clients. Program recipients can then decide when to start the program, for example, start on Monday and aim to complete the prescribed workouts in the mornings at 7 am.

On top of this, you will be able to easily keep track of these members’ progress by seeing when they complete workouts in the programs! If you are coaching a client, go to the 1:1 Online Personal Training messaging stream in our iOS app, tap the Client Details & Stats icon, and then the ‘Enrolled Programs’ link.

You won’t want to miss Workout Trainer‘s latest iOS & Android app feature that allows both trainers and members to Share Workouts with clients, followers & friends. Log in to your Skimble account on Workout Trainer and discover all that this new feature has to offer!

To start using the Shared Workouts feature, make sure your clients or friends are following you in Workout Trainer. You can invite them to download the app/follow you through the SHARE icon in the upper right on your profile.

Once they start following you, you can Share Workouts with them. Simply select your favorite workout, then tap the SHARE icon in the upper right. On Android, tap the SEND icon instead.

This new feature is great if you’re coaching clients one-on-one, but it can also be used to pool your friends into specific sets of workout groups. Just select any followers from the list below! You can also include a personalized message to motivate them to do the workouts you share.

On top of all this greatness, you can keep track of who does your Shared Workouts. A red check mark will appear by each recipient’s profile image once they complete your recommendation. No more excuses for slackers!
